Why did you get involved with the IAA ELC?
“When I attended PAC I saw first hand how the Committee has a great camaraderie and works really hard to put on a conference that has a positive and enduring impact for everyone involved. Being part of the Committee and helping organise such events was something I knew I’d love to do but it felt out of reach. A year or so later I was asked to join, and then eventually co-led the Committee with Antonia for a few years – the rest is history!”
What’s the best thing about the ELC?
“Simply, that we get to be part of so many people’s early experiences of the wider industry, the IAA, and help showcase and support the breadth of talent and opportunities in media here in the UK. It’s a privilege to be part of it, working with a group of brilliant individuals – the future looks bright.”
What advice would you give to someone wanting to join the committee?
“If you’re interested please reach out. Bring new ideas and ways of doing things – ultimately that’s how we’ll continue to be successful and evolve. And be prepared for a very busy, but memorable, few days running PAC!”
How are you finding your time on the committee?
“I’ve loved my nearly 5 years on the Committee – of course there can be moments of stress and unexpected change, especially when we had to adapt over the course of the pandemic. It’s a lot of fun, everyone gets on so well and it’s helped me hone leadership and strategic skills that are really useful for the day job.”
Fun fact about yourself!
“Recently I’ve taken up tennis lessons – Emma Raducanu doesn’t need to worry just yet.”
