Jacqueline Franco

Why did you get involved with IAA SC?
“After years on the YP committee,I stayed closely connected to the IAA. When the opportunity to head up the Social Committee arose, I jumped at the chance and am still here several years later due to the incredible connections I have made both personally and professionally due to my involvement.”

What’s the best thing about the SC?
“Attending our two annual events, the Summer Ball and the Christmas Lunch, have been some of the most fun times I’ve had in this mad industry, reminiscing with old friends and catching up with new acquaintances. Being able to host these parties and continue to make them better and better for guests is just a small way to give a little back to the community that has helped to build my career and ensure that post-pandemic networking lives on!”

What advice would you give to someone who was considering joining the committee?
“Don’t think twice, just put your hand up if you want to be part of an enthusiastic, friendly, fun bunch of go-getters from across the industry who put on the parties of the year! It’s also a great chance to do something a little different from your day job and try your hand at some new skills.”

How are you finding your time on the committee?
“Of course I’m biased but I love it. I couldn’t do it without my amazing committee!
We meet regularly to plan ahead and everyone pitches in, so the responsibility to work with our sponsors and event partners is shared equally. It can be busy in the weeks just before the event itself but even then, it’s well managed and I couldn’t be prouder of the output”
