The International Advertising Association

The International Advertising Association is the Global Compass for the marketing and advertising industry. Our mission is to serve as the gateway for brands and marketers seeking growth across borders and to guide our members through the transformations taking place in our industry. Founded in 1938 in New York, the IAA is now present in over 70 countries and boasts an influential network of industry leaders with a broad spectrum of expertise. The IAA aims to help brands grow, collaborate and forge new paths around the world, as well as providing career development and networking opportunities for individuals.

The IAA UK Chapter is one of the largest and most successful chapters of this global business association, delivering a rich annual programme of business lunches, panels, training courses and conferences. The IAA also hosts the two tentpole networking and client entertainment events in the UK International Advertising calendar – the Summer Ball and the Christmas Lunch.

Our History

Our History

In 2018  the IAA celebrated its 80th Anniversary by launching a new logo and a new value proposition as ‘The global compass of marketing communications’, rededicating itself to serve the brand marketing industry. The event also inaugurates the IAA Golden Compass Awards which hailed visionary leaders for guiding their organizations through today’s era of disruption and inspiring the industry at large by their achievements of global impact.
